dangling hose

today as i approached my parked 2004 rubicon i noticed a dangling hose( actually dragging) up by the radiator. Looks to be about 1/2 inch black hose with a white plastic connector ibn the end. No fluid leak. Got under the jeep and traced it back toward the fuel tank. I can not find where it came off, could it be something to do with emmissions ? if you an help me with what it is or where it goes I would be thankful

The white cap usually indicates a vent line, probably venting the transfer case. If you follow it to the transfer case or an axle, just secure the white cap end up high next to the radiator to keep water out of the line.
