upgrade... AT LEAST. The weight of the tire is going to be murder on your door... not to mention you would need a pretty narrow tire and rim for a 35 in order for it to bolt on.
I agree with Jesse. I've seen Jeepers slap on oversized tires on a factory Spare holder and end's up cracking the bracket and or the tailgate due to exessive stress.
I have a 35" tire on my tailgate, I modified a stock spare mount to hold it a little higher, had to change the lug pattern to 6-lug anyway. It helps if you build the carrier so the tire rests slightly on the bumper, carrying some of the weight. It works for now, will get a swing-away carrier some day, maybe.
Didn't take my dad and I too long, had to clean the inside of the bead also. We were able to reset the bead on the spot. RedBird Indiana if anybody has been there.
Great Picture! Why ain't that on the Opening page! :???: Oh and even though I've not been that hardcore in my jeep, it is definantly good to have a spare! Looks like you and your dad had a great time! :shades:
Ya, he and my 7 year old daughter are my wheelin buddies. My 4 year old son will be soon. My dad's 62 years old and he gets out there and pulls winch cable and throws rocks alongside the younger jeepers. He'd probably get his own jeep to wheel but he wouldn't be able to pull the 5th wheel camper.
