Not Good. Sad day for our kids...

The Amimal Planet will never be the same.... I always thought it would be a bigger animal that would be the end....

That is truly sad news. We love watching his shows.

Damn, who would have thought he would be fatally taken out by a sting ray. I thought it would have been a snake or crocodile. Hes already be bitten by both species.

I hope the media gives the family plenty of space and repect.:-|

I always thought that crocodile would get a good meal of head at some point, but I didn't expect this. There goes one of the best shows ever. Now I'll have to find something else to watch in the evenings. NOT FAIR!

R.I.P. Steve

Talk about bad timing! I just got this email from 4wd Hardware, concerning the fall catalog:

At this time you should have received or will shortly receive your latest 4WD Fall catalog. As you know, some things in life happen unexpectedly that are out of the realm of anyone’s control. These events can sometimes cause a ripple effect that touches a large group of people.

As you may be aware, Steve Irwin, Crocodile Hunter, passed away tragically on September 4, 2006. Steve’s exuberant style and love for what he did made him stand out as one of the most colorful and world-recognized conservationists of our time.

Because of his popularity, 4 Wheel Drive Hardware chose to parody a likeness of Steve as our spokesperson for finding “Jeeps in the Wild” on the cover of our recent Fall Jeep® Catalog.

Unfortunately, the catalogs that portrayed his likeness were mailed on Friday, September 1st, leaving no time to avoid distribution of our “Jeep Hunter” cover.

We sincerely hope that the family and fans of Steve Irwin will see this parody as a tribute to Steve and the millions of people whose lives he touched.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to extend to Steve’s wife, Terri and their two children, Bindi Sue and Robert our deepest sympathies during this very difficult time.

Sincerely,

4 Wheel Drive Hardware

Dang, that catalog couldn't have gone out at a worse time!:( Of course I understand it wasn't their intention to offend, because they just couldn't have known. It mailed out on the 1st, and he died on the 4th.

On a related note, Australian authorities are reporting dozens of incidents of people killing stingrays in the past week, apparently out of some type of revenge....that's just stupid.

Stupid is putting it mildly. This is why we have instructions on the back of claymores and such!

Seems to me like that's exactly what Steve wouldn't want people to do.

Does anyone have a pic of the cover?
I know that is was bad timing, but I think it was done as a tribute to his lifestyle. I've never seen in in a Jeep though.
