Trust me...run a relay. Your lights will be so much brighter unless you have a switch made to handle the amperage of the lights. All the realy does is make it so the switch is used as a trigger which switches on the relay. When the relay is switched on, the power to the lights is coming straight off the battery through the relay instead of through the switch.
