New 3.5" Lift, Now Grind?

Ok, so i put in my new 3.5" Rough Country lift into a 93 Wrangler YJ, with a 2.5L. During the lift, i realized i had to replace the upper and lower ball joint and wheel u-joint all on the passenger side. Looks awesome!

Now for the bad part, I have this "grind" in the front end in speeds excess of 25mph and highway when i let off the gas peddal. So, i regrease everything, kick it, hammer it and beat it....it still does it  ..any ideas what the heck is doing it? thanks in advance...

Did you drop(lower) the transefer case with the kit provided with the lift?

If yes, crawl underneath, loosen the 2 nuts that hold the transfer case to the skidplate (just enough to allow movement of the bolts). Drive around the block (gently), then tighten them back up. This will allow the transfercase to adjust to the new angles.

Even if it is not your problem (sounds like it is though) it should be done to save your U Joints.

Good start Florida!

Ok, well now i feel like an idiot. The guy who helped me put it in, who said he's done them before and seemed to know what he was talking about, said that you only need a transfer case drop when you lift 4 inches or higher..what exactly is happening when it grinds? That way when i go back and kick the $*#@ outta him, he'll know why? LOL Thanks tho for your help Twisted...How long will it last without the drop?

T-case drop, and replace the rear ujoints!

Won't last long, if you hit a large enough bump, your rear drive shaft will fall right out of the Slip Yoke!

And if your gonna kick this guy, go for the nuts! he deserves that after messin yer Jeep!

Ah HA! Fixed! So I kicked him in the nuts. Twice actually. Drank a few beers, dropped the t-case and put u-joints everywhere i could find em! No more grind! Wuhoo! Thanks for the help guys!

You came to the right place - these folks are awesome!

Makes a big difference doesn't it?

Now you need to put a set of tires under that baby !!!

Huge difference, it's like a new jeep all over!
Tires will be on next thursday! I'm gonna go with the 31's for now, just to get through winter....

the link isn't working for me. The one in your sig does though, but I don't see the new tires in any of those pics :(

There ya go. I can see them now. Looks like it's raining there. Should be some muddy spots around to try out your new setup ;)

Nice looking Jeep!
