Hello all. I work in the warrenty dept.= at a truck parts distrubter so i can get damaged parts dirt cheap. We have a ton of damaged aluminum tool boxes. I can get one of these units for all most free. Has anyone ever used aluminum to make a set of rocker gaurds? How easy would it be to paint them black? how well would the paint hold up. Is it worth doing are is it just better to buy them. Thanks:???:

I have aluminum side guards and corner guards on my Jeep. Fairly easy to work with. I would not rely on it to protect the Jeep for Hard impact's but good enough to protect your jeep from Scratches and small rocks. I used an Aluminum Wheel acid to etch the surface of the Aluminum and sprayed a self etching primer. after letting it sit for 4 hrs. i painted it with a flat black finish. The paint hold's well, contingent with the use and abuse you subject it to.

Do you have any Trailer tongue boxes or anything I could attatch to a trailer?

and I would not use aluminum, way too soft, it will gouge the second you drag it over something slightly course..

and let me know about the tool box. open to just about anything.
