Just my opinion but I don't think Ggg Has been informed very well. SOOO, Here is some food for thought:
302 is MUCH lighter than a 350 by about 100 lbs, it is even lighter than the 4.0 I6
302 is narrower than a 350, This makes swapping them into tighter places easier, and the front mounted distributor means no firewall modifications are necessary.
FI 302 from a Ford truck makes 205HP--290ft. lbs
TBI 350 from a Chevy makes 190HP--268 ft. lbs--Notcie this is the worst rating of the group.
Vortec 350 from a Chevy makes 255 HP-330 ft. lbs
302 from a Mustang makes 225HP-300 ft. lbs
302 from an Explorer makes 235HP--315 ft. lbs.--this is a full roller motor with GT40p heads and is VERY capable of over 400 HP with some very minor modifications (cam swap computer tuning and some very minor porting)
At 190 and 268 I would think the 350 TBI would be the biggest waste of engine swap resources, especially when you could swap a 4.3L Vortec and get the same numbers (200Hp and 260 ft. lbs.) in a lighter package.
