    i dont think it is nessecary to engage the hubs for flat towing...kinda defeats their purpose dont ya think :lol: there wouldnt be any moving parts in the front diff if the hubs were unlocked and the t-case in neutral...so what part needs to be lubricated??

    there are dana 35 without c-clips.....i got one in my backyard...lol.... i dont know what those guys at the stealerships are thinking half the time :roll:

    Race..the part that the bearing rolls in...generally if you have to replace a bearing you replace the race at the same time. in your case once you pull the axle shaft you should see the race sitting inside the tube.

    ok guys...i installed a AA SYE and made a spare driveshaft out of a cheerokee front shaft. this is only intended to be my trail spare and is a little too short but will work to get me home. So i have to measure for a tom woods rear drive shaft.. is it center cap to center cap? does it matter...

    will this 35" fit

    they should fit without too much trouble...i ran 36 swamper with 3 BB and 3 suspension lift.....got a little bit of a rub on the rear fenders but nothing to major.. oh yeah and i ran em on the old dana 30 and 35 :lol: only part i broke was the carrier gears in the rear. :wink:

    try spraying some white grease or other type of lubricant on it...it might help out a little.

    dana 35 axle shaft play

    if you have the non-c-clip version of the dana 35 check the four bolts that hold the axle to the axle flange. look on the backside of the backing plate...you cant miss em.. if that isnt the problem i would replace the bearing and race on the side with play.

    Re: Not MORE disco's! i agree with jps4jeep...it is a lot easyier to install the SYE with the t-case on the bench...unless you are installing a hack n tap than it is easyier to install it on the jeep. any way you chose to do it good luck on the install :D Are you going SOA?

    i know it is the slip spiline for sure cause i had to use special u-joints to mate my stock driveshaft to the larger yoke on the 44. But the old u-joints( i say old but they were only a year old) were dusted with zero grease in em. :cry: if it doesnt hurt the pinion i am going to run it till...

    cheerokee front drive shaft

    the stock cherokee front drive shaft i am using is signifcantly BIGGER than my stock 89 YJ rear driveshaft.( picked the driveshaft up today :lol: :lol:)
