Wheels and tires

If i run 31x12.50x15 tires what wheels should i get 15x8 or 15x10? and what backspacing do i need for a TJ 3 1/2 or less.

Does anybody know anything about weld 96 prostar wheels..if thay will hold up to trail riding and mud no rocks.

thanks.

I would go with the 15x8 and never have a bead problem when off road.3.5 to 3.75 bs with a 15x8 rim.

I would NEVER run a 15x10 rim EVER. I posted it here last week, I ran a 15.5"" wide tire on a 8" wide rim and it was an awesome set up. with a 12.5" wide tire, I would run a 7" wide rim. I have run that tire size with a 8" rim, but I was limited to double digit offroad tire pressure.

Currently I am running a factory 80's gmc 15x8 wheel with a 11" wide tire, but they are bead locks and that is the only way I would ever get away with this set up.

*EDIT*

Before all the haters beat me up... too add, I like to run a trail pressure of 3-5 psi.. this is what I am basing my opinion on.. if your vehicle is a street driven jeep 99% of the time and maybe light trails... you could run a 15x10 wheel and get away with it. Running this pressure is stricktly my preference to get me off the trail.

Thank you for the input it realy helped..

I ran a 10 inch rim with 12.50s for a bit and ran 6-8 psi and I did on occasion break a bead. I run 8s now and will stay that way. I vote 8.
