What did you do to your Jeep today?

Did you try a doorman exhaust manifold?

The engine should not torque in the mount. If you note the engine moving when you rev it replace the mounts. This has likely helped to cause the manifold cracking.

Yes this is a dorman manifold, (original had 220k on it before I cracked I've put less than 3000 miles on 2 dorman manifolds)
I'll be picking up a new one and a pair of mounts in s few hrs.
I have a shutter on take off every now and then (not consistant) mainly after a long highway stretch and then I come in town and have to stop at a few stop light/signs... confused

Well a couple hours later....
New motor mounts and manifold. We'll see how long this one lasts, thank goodness for lifetime warranty parts!

Early travel day. Made it to Willits CA to a Koa campground. Now some Silver bullets and some relaxing.

I spoke with a exhaust manufacturer. They really felt too much motor movement and/or to rigid of an exhaust leads to cracked headers or loose flanges. So now that you tightened up the motor movement be sure the exhaust can move with the motor.

Thanks :) it looks like the rest of the exhaust seems to have normal movement, all the hangers are in good shape. I took the Jeep for a short ride last night and even some of the vibrations I felt were gone, so here's to hoping that was the last time I'll have to replace the manifold...

What town are you in? Kinda looks like the Russian River, but I know you're a lot further north. Nice!

Were at a campground in Myers Flat. It's north of Ukiah and about 1 hour south of Eureka. Headed out this am for Gold Beach Oregon. It's about a 4-5 hour drive.

I had the tires balanced.

When it was done the shop called me and told me it was done. He then went on to ask "who did your suspension work". I thought "oh no..." and said "for better or worse I did it". He then went on to tell me that I did a great job and that everyone there things it's a pretty sweet Jeep. Made me feel good.
