transfer case linkage

i just replaced my transfer case in my jeep. having a problem getting the linkage arm together (the first long arm from the case to the rest of the assembly) any easier ways to get it back on? its still in vehicle, i just cant get enough pressure with my pliers. thanks

Try dabbing a little bit of lubricant on the grommet then squeeeeeeeze the crap out of it with a channel lock p[liers to the pivot ball. It should just pop right on.
