Try changing the fluid first and see if that takes care of the problem. Most of the guys here likes the Redline fluid. I recently switched to the Royal purple and seems to work great.

Worn synchro's or a worn pressure plate would have that symptom.

Neither are too expensive if you do the work yourself; expensive if you pay someone to do it. I vote do it yourself and save/learn. Either way the transmission has to come out. I’m thinking you might be needing a clutch rebuild anyway…. You’ll know once you get everything on the floor.
