I've kinda been unsure of posting this, as I have been back and forth about the '07 Wranglers, but:
When I bought my Unlimited, I was actually considering buying a new Jeep, mostlikely one of the left-over '06 models. While at the dealership I had a chance to look over the '07 really well. They are, afterall, cheaper than the previous models and I figured it would be stupid to not consider them when making a decision.
In a nutshell, they are cheesy, cheap, flimsy crap. Other than having a pretty cool looking interior, I hated it. Everything from the flimsy door handles, the way everything felt lighter and weaker, and the fact that they took away the 4.0L just screamed of bad engineering. This thing has a lower stickerprice than comperably equipped 06 models and when you stand one beside a TJ or LJ it is clear how that was achieved.
There I said it.
Oh, and I figured out the letter designation...
JK: a combination of the TJ and the KJ
It's a Libergler. A Wranglerty. It's cheesy, and even though there were a very few improvements equipment-wise (larger axle shafts and U joints for example) I don't think SWB Jeeps will ever be what they used to be.
