where did you get your front blackouts? the only ones ive been able to find are the half covers. i plan to get full blackouts when i can find them. and thats only 4.5 inches? it looks quite a bit bigger, specially if those are 33's

oh and are the hood scoups just riveted and stuck on? or did you smooth out the edges to make them blend better? id considered the scoupes just for fun, but wasnt sure how good they'd look.

I got the blackouts for the front and back lights from AVS (AutoVentShade) You can order them online. Also, yes... indeed that is a 4.5 with MAJOR trimming. I have no rubbing whatsoever. Right now I got bushwacker flares on the Jeep and more clearance than ever before. My goal is to run 38's but I will see the results after I put on a 8 inch kit from SkyJacker whenever my trailmaster lift wears out. [addsig]

I forgot... the scoops are simply riveted on and I applied touch up paint to the rivets to make it blend in. I plan on using bondo to smoothen out the entire hood. [addsig]

Sweet Rig ICY.

Is that really only a 4 inch lift?? If you can actually fit 33's on a 4 inch lift, I would rather trim fender than deal with all the crap that seems to go with the 6inch install.

How far past the flare impressions (most people use as a guide) did you go?[addsig]

Easiest thing to do is get some bushwacker cut out flares. And I did Use the flare impressions as the cutting line for the front. For the rear, I simply took the flare off and cut as far as I can go without cutting the pressed metal.
Right now I got bushwackers and I shouldv'e done that in the very beginning!

In response to Jeepmaster....
Blocks are nice, yes. They provide lift, yes. But, are they reliable, NO.

There are several drawbacks to blocks. (my opinion at least)
1. They can warp the leaf springs.
2. They can pop out.
3. Also, they are not as sturdy as a real lift. The whole axle will sway and move.

How did you make your hood scoopes functional. Did you fab up your own collection tray to funnel the air to the air filter? Very curious. [addsig]

Actually I just cut out openings in the hood. And there are openings in the scoops themselves of course. I haven't gotten around to making it a true RAM Air hood. When I get my K and N Filtercharger cold air kit, I will be using a sort of homemade heater hose that will be attached to the hood holes to the cold air box. I will see..... I am a homemade guy and I am not exactly sure until I see what the new cold air kit looks like first. [addsig]

I finally got some new tires. I got Cooper Radial ST's. I will let you guys know how they are as soon as I get the Jeep back. [addsig]

Just dont forget that the suspenson lift is only a part of the total package. A really tall lift will need driveshaft and most likely transfer case modifications too..My XJ is at around 4.5 to 5 inches lifted...so far i havent broken any u-joints or shafts yet.. if you have the double cardin joints, you may get away with a little more lift.. but my front CV type front drive shaft is maxed out for angle at this point. And i have been advised to get a slip yoke eliminator and rework the drive shaft for the rear also.
