These wires normal for an ‘02 X?

I’m puzzled by these wires. This typical?

I'm not sure what you have there. Pics are poor so digital magnification worsens them.
Plus a little background. You own this and wires just grew overnight or what?

Just bought it. First Jeep. Not sure why the images are rotating.

My guess is they had an amp or sub (both) in the back. And they just cut the wires.
The second image looks like the ground. A crappy ground at that. Heavy cable but the eye loop is touching paint.
