Steering

I have a 92 jeep wrangler YJ. I recently gave it a 2.5 inch lift (new leaf springs and shocks). After the lift the steering wheel was about 1/8 of a turn to the right. The jeep drove strait no pull to either side. I have notice if I take a hard turn to the left ( not a sharp turn) the steering wheel goes to center and the jeep drives strait and does not pull to either side. I later make a hard turn to the right and the steering wheel is back of center by about 1/8 of a turn. What could be causing that?

Sounds like the front trackbar is loose, also called the panhard bar. It's the bar that runs parallel to the front axle, connecting the axle to the frame to keep the axle centered.

Gotta be either worn steering components or a worn/loose front trackbar.

To straighten the steering wheel after the lift, lengthen the draglink a little. This will not affect the toe-in on a YJ.

Worn tie rod ends, ball joints will contribute to this. Also if you have too much toe out, this can have this affect
