People really got offended by the titles? I had no idea that people would be offended - the thought didn't even cross my mind.

well, I've deleted all the ranks. Personally, I thought it made the site alittle lighter, maybe giving people alittle laugh, and am sad to see them go.
I could see being upset if one person was singled out to me made fun of, but if we insult everyone equally, everything should be fine...right?

I hate that you had to do that. I can see both sides of this coin. It all depends on what type of site you want Jeepz to be. This is probably one of the tamest, cleanest and friendliest Jeep websites that I've been to. And that is because of the atmosphere created by I will assume, you Terry. The Mods are here to enforce your rules and they do it well. I think we all make it a point not to flame or offend ANYONE at all and I think we do a great job of it. I go to some other places where the language is more 'adult' and some are similarly civil and others are the extreme oposite.
The labels did lighten it up around here some Terry. In this world you can't make everyone happy. If one person left because of it then some others were probably bothered as well but just kept quite about it. If we want to keep this website the way it is then you did the right thing. If you want to lighten it up a little at the risk of offending a few, that is fine too. You might lose a few but you may also gain more. To some, the "niceness" around here might be offputing. I sometimes think we go overboard with our censoring of language but that is my opinion. We are all at least over 16 if we are driving a Jeep and I think we have all heard it before.

Well, the more I think of it, the less important little ranks seem to be, so I'm not too worried about it.

Hi all, Im new here. I posted a ? in the cj forum, not only was it removed, but my account was removed also. Had too recreate everything. I like the idea of post counts only because you can tell people that have been here awhile. I hope I can stay w/out being deleted this time. Rich

There was a period today where I attempted to add both a chat and a gallery. The results weren't too good, and I had to restore a 250MB database,
so, we lost about an hour or two worth of posts / signups, etc.
It was not meant as a slight against you, just trying to do some backend work

I kinda liked having the titles. Mabye we should come up with other titles that we can all agree on. We could come up with 10 different titles then have a poll to see what people want. The titles could have relation to how long people have been on the site or how many posts people have.
Example:- New Member (Newbie)
- Freshman
- Senior Member ect. you know what I'm getting at.

And we all know that a post count only serves to directly indicate how much keyboard time a person has, or how long they've been here. We get to know who contributes after being on a while, and it's hard to directly indicate that through a count or rank.

I agree with Bounty - probably best forgotten. But......if we were to keep them, they should be changed every month or so, just to keep the pot stirred............"Clutch burner"...."Gear grinder"...."Winch breaker"...."4banger" (oops!).........you could go on and on.

well the labels are gone.... I was wondering if we could have the option to have them, could we... I mean come up with our own with in some tastfulness? I am part of another board and with certain post ranking, you're allowed to add a lable that is representitive of you post.
