Question about brake shoes

I'm getting ready to do the rear brakes on my '74 CJ5, so I'm looking around at what kind of brake shoes are available. From what I have seen there isn't really much choice. When it comes to disc brake pads there are all kinds. You can get metallic, semi-metallic, and a whole lot of other composition brake pads. But there doesn't seem to be any difference in drum brake shoes. Is that the case? Brake shoes are all pretty much the same? Auto Zone has some from Duralast that I will probably get but if there are better quality ones out there I would like to put them on. But so far everything I've seen is about 25-35 bucks a set and I assume they are all the same material. If there are better brake shoes out there I'd sure like to know where I could get some. Any suggestions where to look?

From my experience, i would just get the midline brake shoes. I've tried the higher grade shoes but caused more squeel than anything else.

Ditto. I use the autozone shoes on my DD. your rear brakes do so little stopping that I would not concern myself with the brand too much.

I agree with the previous 2 posts and would like to add that I would stay away from the brand raybestos they can be hard to keep from squeeling. Also Performance Friction are very hard and although they stop well they tend to wear down rotors and drums faster.
