I'm still having brake trouble with my cj. The trouble is my brakes are sticking all 4 wheels are hot. It's all new with in the last 2 years but the proportion valve. Its fine when I first start driving but I then can feel the brakes start sticking, I unhooked the booster that did help but after driving longer a could tell they were sticking. P.s the brake petal well get very hard. Thinks if any one can help me.

are the brake springs old and weak not releasing the brakes?. Did you replace the wheel cylinders when you did the brakes?

It sounds like the brake fluid is heating up and expanding. Something is not letting the fluid back in the master cylinder. If you went from drum to disc did you remove the check valve in the master cylinder itself.

I have drums in the the rear and disc,s in the front. I first was thinking it was the fronts sticking. In my old axles and replace all the front end. And it seemed to help but would stick sometimes. Then I put 1/2 Chevy axles Dana 44, under it and it worked fine but after time I felt it start sticking not real bad, so I replaced all the front end brakes. On the rear before putting them on we went through the brakes and replaced one bad cylinder. Things seemed to be working fine, for a bit sometimes sticking then would stop. But now its really bad. The last time I drove it is when I realized that all the wheels were hot. It does seem to help when I unhook the booster? But I did feel it start sticking. But not bad.

If the fluid is heating up? What is the fix for that the brake lines are start ran down along the frame rail. Should I take some fluid out of the master? Don't fill it to the top? Ok thinks p.s the booster and master are only 2 years old.

Yes, if you went from drums to discs in the front you have to remove the check valve in the master. check all brake line and see if they are real close to the exhaust, I ran into that once. The exhaust got the fluid hot.

Well I got another master and its working fine, I'm starting to think I may have got a bad master before. And I'm running high tem fluid just in case. And I got my roll cage in too.

Cool, glad to hear you fixed it. Now go out there and enjoy it until something else goes up...
