Just got outta jail

i'm not saying the police don't get anthing, the dept does get 10% back for equipment. I know in all the years i've been with my dept we have not reeceived anything back from the vehicles confiscated, the county task force does. No officers working the street benefit from confiscating stuff. We make our salaries no matter what we do, and there are no bonuses for confiscating cars, money, or homes etc. We take home our salaries, and even though some confiscated money does go back to the dept, we do not see the money. And that money will provide training and equipment for officers to continue to fight the war on drugs. I know we're losng the war, but we still have to fight. Try dealing with a crack head who prostituted out her 12 year old daughter for sex so she could smoke a $20 piece of crack. All this for a high that will only last approx 40 - 80 mins. SOrry but i grew up in a home with 2 brothers who were drug dealers(weed), and after seeing a man show up at our front door with a shot gun looking for them because he wanted them to stay off his territory. I knew right then and there that i would avoid that type of incident.

On a funny note, we had a guy last week who reported his son for stealing 5 lbs of marijuana from him. (Is that typical of a daily marijuana user? Most of the time they forget to use some common sense)

dropseys i can assure you that it didnt smell even the faintest of weed in that car. i never smoked in the vehicle (DUH selling drugs from it) and as we were being pulled over i administered a heavy dose of Axe to the car.
That's your mistake right there. My friend's dad is a cop and at road blocks and pulling over someone, he says fresh smelling gum and cologne are some of the first signs someone's trying to hide something like their breath of alochol or the car of drugs.

on a slightly comical note, in addition to the pot we had, we'd gotten 2 handles of captain morgan earlier in the night, and i just got the jeep back and they left one of them in there... nice work ladies

LOL!!! That's awesome! I hope everything works out alright with your case. Whatever they found by searching your property illegally can not be used against you, so hopefully you are able to prove that to be true.

I think they already sentenced him ? ... ?
Too bad they did not catch one of the cops using your stuff, and dismiss your entire case.. ( sorry, just dreaming)

Ok i could go on and on all day about this, but i wont. Ill only say this. For those of you who smoke weed and say that you think it SHOULD be legal. GET OVER IT! Like it or not, its NOT legal, and you breaking the law isnt going to make it legal. Its just like anything else. Maybe i think the speed limit should be higher, but that aint gonna do me any good if i get pulled over for speeding now is it?

Im sorry if that makes anybody mad (if i said everything i thought while reading this thread id REALLY make ya mad) but the truth of the matter is, if you dont like a law the way to get it changed isnt to break it.

My grandfather used to be a Sheriff.....he always told me, "It's only illegal if you get caught!"

I'll tell you what pisses me off...

This fellow jeeper, who admitted he's wrong, comes on here to share his growing experience, and some of you, call him out for "bitching" etc.??? Way to keep anyone else from ever posting personal experiences on this site for fear of condemnation from the "Moral" police. Good job!! You know what... that's helpful.
It's funny that some of you "moral majority" types always seem to be the first to throw the first stone.--Give me a freakin' break. This crap gets old and tiresome. Let's just be happy this gentleman learned something from this.

Jeepmaster, thanks for sharing, sucks you got pinched, and I'm sure you're better for it. I personally don't smoke pot, don't like pot, but don't have a thing against it. I think alcohol is a much bigger issue, but you know what...we are all human, and it's natural to err. But evidentally some of us have reached a state of perfection, and find it much more productive to condescend towards a fellow jeeper who thought our forum would be a non-judging and safe forum in which to share a life lesson learned.

I too learned a lesson, if you make a mistake in life don't post here for fear of getting flamed and raked across the coals, by what I like to refer to as the "Perfect People Assoc."

Most of the Jeepz peepz were very supportive and happy for our friends life lesson....That's the way it should be.

One or two of you... not so much.

thanks mingez, i appreciate the support, i didnt come here looking for sympathy and fellow people to bash cops, thats not what im doing, i did expect to get some shots taken at me, but thats gonna happen when people dont agree on things

as far as legalization, i never said it should be legal, however i feel that if alcohol is legal, then why not pot? same dif

anyone who says pot is a gateway drug is living in fantasyland. ive used it for several years and guess how many other drugs ive done... ZERO , but you know what i did use before pot? ciggarettes (briefly, like 2 months) and alcohol.. THOSE are the gateway drugs

got the PM white, sent you one back, but forgot to ask why its ok to deal but not use? pot isnt nearly as harmful as a pack a day or alcoholism

greenTJ, never had a problem with the law, just the way they caught me breaking it

and in defense of all the "bad pot smokers" this was my first and only offense, so i dont have a history of screwing up, pot only ruins you in the eyes of the law.. and that said i'd rather be a pothead than an alcoholic anyday, but i'd rather be neither even more

Wow...every time I read these threads and hear the "Perfect People Assoc." lay into someone it gets me thinking about who some of the people on this board might be and frustrates me a bit. But it always seems to be Mingez who turns things around and provides an appropriate, civil, and logical response. The boy was just venting and already knows he did something wrong. Jeepmaster...that sucks you got in trouble, just cause you smoke and drink doesnt mean your going to be a loser in life. Just dont let it get a hold of you. 99.999% of my friends in college smoked and/or drank and all of them graduated some of them went on to advanced degrees and everyone is a working productive member of society. The key to smoking, drinking, eating, shopping, anything in life... is moderation!

And no I dont smoke. But I do enjoy a good cocktail after work on friday and really enjoy getting smashed with the boys everyonce in a while.

Well said, Ian Flemming!!!

I apologize to Jeepmaster if he thinks i was bashing him, but it kinda ticks me off when people accuse cops in general of violating rights. We all don't violate peoples rights or beat people, and considering how many of us are killed each year it seems that people like to think we're in the job just to do that. I think that the Rodney King thing was the biggest black eye law enforcement could have ever taken by the general public. Its a difficult job, but someone has to do it. Jeepmaster has learned a tough lesson, and being this is his first offense he should make out ok. He has said several times on here that he will never do it again and i believe him. The only thing i ask is for people to not bash all law enforcement officers.

P.S. I apologize to anyone else if i sounded like i was a part of the Perfect People Association. I have not been aaccepted into the group and therefore am not a member. I wouldn't mind being a part of that group, but this thing keeps getting in the way...... whats it called, oh yeah, life. Sorry if it sounds stupid but i am trying ot make people laugh a little bit since people are getting pissed. Just remember to laugh, lifes to short to get angry and stay angry.

Very well said, Mingez!

No, pot isn't a gateway drug for everyone. Nobody can say what is their particular gateway drug. I was doing Quaaludes and acid for a couple of years before I ever smoked pot. I started drinking to cover the smell of the pot and to hide my "high" from the pot. I then started smoking cigarettes to cover the alcohol. (That didn't work). I don't drink but about 3 or 4 times a year now, and then it's only coffee and Bailey's, or the occasional glass of wine. I still smoke cigarettes. I plan to stop smoking about 3 days before the autopsy. Point is, nobody can say what anybody else's "gateway" drug is. Personally, I don't think there is such a thing. Some are just more adventurous, and want to try whatever is out there.
