jeep tj braking problem

I have a 97 tj and when I go to brake it pulls to the left side (driver side) I checked both sides and they are both squeezing the rotors. It wasn't doing it this morning ( that I noticed) but started this afternoon ( bout 2 hours after i started in the morning) any opinions on what it could be

maybe one of your brake rotors got some fluid on it and its not grabbing?

I took the tire off. Took the calipers off and the rotor just to make sure its on there the right way. And the rotor was clean. I even made sure there wasn't air in the lines and everthing checked out good. I'm gona take it out later and see if it does it when I press harder on the pedal and see if it still pulls I'm thinking it does it when I press lightly and the fluid takes a bit longer to push that rotor in

It could be one of the rotors are under specs, one caliper is applying more force than the other, caliper pins (glide pins) are dried and need to be lubed. There are tons of stuff that could cause this. If just had your brakes done, there could be air in the lines. The best bet would to get a brake evaluation done. They are pretty cheap. At my work, we only charge $15 and sometimes free.

Well i drove it quite a bit and it seems that the more I brake the more it turn speed affects it more to the faster I go the more it turns but never turn all the way it seems to straighten out mid brake.. how do i lubricate guide pins

Unbolted them from the caliper and apply a then coat of lube. You can get lube from any parts store. If the glide pins look rusted, I would just replace them. They are also pretty cheap.

What kind of lube do I need to use? So if the caliper piston is moving the glide pins is my issue? I hate driving it like this cause it isn't really safe. I'll try the lube and let u guys know

Any grease should work, a water proof type proabably a good idea. Auto parts stores sell a lube for it. I've also used Anti-cease.

Gona try it and hope it works

Ok so I lubricated both sides and its still pulling... Why'll I had the pads of I did check the piston and I have a question both it. With the pedal pressed all the way down how far should the piston go?

Did you hit the brake with the caliper off? If so, that is not a good thing. You can push the piston out, then you just bought yourself a new caliper.

Dang really? It didnt seem like it went very far... Maybe I would say the same distance as if the pads were wore down.. I watch the piston and had my brother press the brakes.. it doesn't pull when I'm going slow under 30mph. But above that it still pulls. I check the tire pressure and on the passanger side there is half a pound difference

If you aren't careful, you can actually push the piston out. Was it pulling to the passenger side?

No it was pulling to the driver side. I didnt know I can pop the piston out. I'll have to be careful not to do tgat again

I think i ruled out the brakes. Cause it only does it above a certain speed and it isn't consistent. But I did notice wheel bearing play.. could the bearings going out cause this? The steering wheel does shake quite a bit above 50. It's not a death wobble iv already experienced that and this isn't nowhere as extreme as the DW

U can pop the piston out that's y they make rebuild kit for then but most people just get new cuzz it easyer. I would check the wheel bering .

At 70 bucks a pop there not cheap. Both sides seem to be going out cause there is play on the wheel.

Up and down or in and out a little bit in and out might be ok but a lot u might need to check your diff. But with the way it sounds to make that noise must be lot of play.
