Can anyone tell me what cylinder head numbers are the LB-6 &LB-3 ,and possably where the numbers are located on the head. I am trying to narrow down the year of the engine in my wrangler for reasons of parts replacment.I am told the LB6 is from 87 to 90 ,and the LB3 is from 83 to 85. The head & block are both cast iron. I'm limited with funds and need to deal with junkyards and as i am sure everyone knows if you get the wrong part you get nothing but parts you cant use.Iam also told that 71 to 80 were cast iron.Appriceate any help nomatter how much is given.

I'm confused. You are going to buy used lifters from a junkyard? (info from your other thread) I wouldn't buy any internal engine parts used. Lifters are cheap enough brand new. Take one to the auto parts store and measure the new ones against your old one.
What do you need other than lifters?
If you are going to risk junkyard, then why not buy the entire head?
Quadratec shows three different kits with the cam. All probably use the same lifter.

sorry redrooster'
im new to this kind of thing and my typing sucks.I just joined today and am learning how to use this program.I sent you an email the wrong way.For the most part i want new parts but the autostore said there was three differant kits, and i needed to find out exactly what vehicale the motor was out of.
