just getting a jeep wrangler 92 4 cylinder.

i'd like to upgrade...
i looked on craigslist for different better engines to install in the future::

is a 93' 5.2 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine going to be compatible and installable....

and is it EVEN an upgrade at all in power?

Welcome to the Z.

The 5.2L is a decent option but you would need the transmission and transfer case with it, even better if you could score the engine wiring harness. It's often times best to score a donor vehicle so you have everything needed for the swap and can label things accurately during disassembly of each drivetrain.

There's no other decent swap options compatible with your transmission, nor will your transmission handle any more power than the 4cyl.
