I am having trouble filling my CJ5

I am having trouble filling my CJ5 at the pump.
When I am fueling the tank it constantly shuts down.
It tanks a long time to get the tank filled.

It can be an obstructed fuel tank vent hose (right next to the filler hose, but in 'BB's' case even a replacement filler and vent hose failed to cure this. So, on 'BB' I've learned that keeping the pump handle at about 5:00 position and on slowest fill she won't click off prematurely.

Turbogus is right on. I had the same problem with my '74 CJ-5. Keep it around the 3pm-5pm range.

Yep, have delt with this in the past. No solution, just gota play with it to find that spot to fill.
