How to lift it?

I'm not pissed, I just don't care for the labeling, worrying about whether someone is hardcore or not based simply on how the jeep is built. There's a lot more to it than that.

I'll stick with my SUA 4Banger playin with the supposed 'Big Dogs'

something smell like its burning!!

I think "hardcore" is the Guy/Girl on the trails with the Hiking Gear. Just boots and a Backpack.
They have the proper gear to go anywhere.

That's not hardcore, Hardcore is the guy who Runs up the mountain with nothing but boxers on and intentionally heads for the pricker bushes and burdocks... and when he gets to the top he cries out a big manly yell before he licks his wounds... and no hiking stick!

Hardcore?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

8.8" Ford axle link

Whats funny is I wheeled with a guy from Salem with a sprung over jeep and he wouldnt follow me down trails I went down with my 2.5" SUA and 33's. Having an SOA doesnt mean someone is hardcore. Bountys case is a perfect example: How many of you "hardcore" wheelers with spring overs have entered rock crawling competitions like he has? Probably not to many. Now granted, if I had the tools and resources to do a SOA, I would do one. But for a daily driver on a college kids budget, a SUA can perform pretty well and is worth the $500 and 4-5 hour install when compared to the high price and technical install of a PROPERLY done SOA. Again, SOA is awesome, but not practical for everyone and the wheeling that they do.

lol..i am a university student and i managed to do a SOA over the course of a winter....but i understand where you are coming from. Some people need to drive there jeeps everyday to school and work:lol:

And it looks like your still waiting for a rear drive shaft and a hi steer :p .... Dont know what University you go to, but I have to drive to mine, cause I commute, and I have to get to work, and I cant afford insurance on two rigs, so either your just loaded or very efficient.

SUA is for dorks. And so are 4 Bangers. Kool Aid is AWESOME. And HARD CORE is driving a Surrey to Moab, and looking around at all the other folks and giving the "What's up, you want some of this" head nod.

I can't believe I missed this thread. Way funny!!! Little touchy about the hardcore part though...

Yep, mine is a daily driver too... got my SOA done in 3 days. Of course I got family and friends to help out for the weekend, 4 of us total.

HARD CORE is just having the gonads to drive that Surrey in public!!

This from the guy that bought a TJ.... Car springs are for dorks!

I think all Jeeps can do some hardcore wheeling. In my opinion, it is the driver that makes it hardcore or not.

Sounds like a perfect movie scene for Ben Stiller

Stepping out of the Surrey, taking off his sunglasses, and then commences to give the "Blue Steel" look. Next....the Walk Off!!!

But what if you're "REELY-REELY-REELY Good Looking!"

280 torque and only 130 hp?....in a 4 cylinder? What is it, a turbocharged diesel?

im not sure, check out the recent edition of four wheeler magazine. they did a special on gas mileage and it won honorable mentions and its not even out yet. its a 2.8L

i qoute the article "We just had to throw this in. The '05 Liberty is optionally powered by a high-reving, European-designed common-rail, electronically injected diesel that makes 160hp and 295ft-lb of torque. This first year it comes only with an automatic but still gets a 21/27 estimate. If or when a manual becomes available, feather footed drivers will probably be able to crack 30mpg. All that and performance close to a 3.7L V-6." end quote.

I have enjoyed the Hardcore thing you guys are doing here! You want to know my thoughts on what makes a hard core jeeper? If you do read on!

A hardcore jeeper is someone who has a Jeep. The jeep is a tool for getting the jeeper off the beaten path "pavement" for the sheer enjoyment of being off the beaten path. This jeeper has learned enough about the sport of off raoding to know what to put in the cargo area of the jeep to be able to get home from the outting 85 to 90% of the times out. The hardcore jeeper is not always the one to the top first nor is the one home first. The hardcore Jeeper may get stuck and need help to get out but this jeeper will never leave you "unless going for tools and or help" stuck and when all others give up this jeeper will be on his or her belly in the dirt with a flattened out soda can diging a way out cause they just don't want to give up. The hardcore jeeper is going to be driven a Jeep. I might be a stock liberty or a lifted hybrid with all most all after market coustom parts that only looks like a jeep shell. The hardcore jeeper will be the one that parks next to your jeep just so he might get a chance to meet another jeeper in a parking lot. A Hardcore jeeper will never pass another broken down jeep on the highway cause they have been there before. A hardcore jeeper will be waven as he passes you in his jeep and even when he is in the wifes grosery getter. A hardcore jeeper will help you figure a way to get r done when it comes to fixen your broken parts and for the most part may even have the part needed in the ol stock parts pile. A hardcore jeeper will show up and check in with his or her hardcore jeeper buddies on Jeepz.com as often as they can. A hardcore jeeper will be the one in the trails driven smart and doing what needs to be done to get there and back with the least dammage to their jeep possible. There is no real hardcore jeeper ther is only jeepers and want to be jeepers. So what are you? I think for the most part all of you are serious jeeprs of the hardest hardcore or you would not be here reading this. tug
