Help with transmission

I am really frustrated right now. I am trying to overhaul my t-150 3-speed transmission out of my 79 cj7. I cannot for the life of me get the transfer gear locknut off the rear of the mainshaft. I don't have an impact wrench so this is all manual and elbow grease! Any suggestions on how to get this off? I am at my wits end. Thanks for the help.:???:

A big wrench with a cheater pipe and alot of grunting or find someone who has an impact gun and an air compressor.

I'd take the transmission down to a mom & pop type repair shop or maybe a machine shop and slip the guy a couple of fins. I bet they have it off in a minute or so. Even if it cost you a Jackson it would be well worth it.

Thanks for the help. My husband came home and we got it off with a little elbow grease. Now I can't get a snapring off the rear bearing. This thing is driving me crazy. Any special tools that can help get it off?

A small screwdriver and a pick works for me sometimes but a snap ring pliers works better. Is it stuck?

It's not stuck. I've been trying to use a screwdriver and any other tools I can get up under the ring. I got some snapring tools from my Dad but they don't work either. There is no way to get hold of the snapring with them. This particular one is an internal ring, and very thick. I need to get it off so I can replace that bearing. I'm going to try and try again. Thanks for the help, any other suggestions are helpful as well as appreciated.
