flowmasters on a 4 banger?

i have a 91 jeep wrangler with a 3 inch body lift,32x11.50 bfg allterains, and a few other things. now i want it to sound better and im wondering if flowmasters will help or if it will sound like a import or something. if you know what would be best tell me please.[addsig]

I went with an old fashion glass pack saved me 40 bucks and it sounds very deep and I love it. I also got rid of my cat converter. So it really sounds sweet and breaths like a track star!

Only if you get caught! Tennessee has no inspection! To answer your question yea most likely but so is several other things I do on a regular basis.(nothing real bad) Then for the flow and sound I'll ask to be forgiven rather than asking for premission. Just prior to going to jeep jail

Besides it must have been like that when I bought it

I never checked and How would I have known to look for something like that I'm no wrench!

I also have the 4-banger

I also wanted to do something to spice up the exhaust without having it sound like an import. (I am used to the nice throaty exhaust on my Camaro...

) So a glasspack sounds pretty good? I want a little more tone, but not that annoying 'bbrrrwwwooooopppp' from a typical honda. Sounds like a new muffler may be the next mod to the Jeep....

I took my muffler completely off and replaced it with a piece of pipe... PERFECT back pressure with the cat still intact, but this was with a 4.0... I loved the sound... I could wake people up... let people know when i'm around... scare old people when they go slow... I had that nice rumbling and occasionally pop, boom, pow sound. After the cat baffles accidentally fell out when I accidentally rammed a prybar in there several times, I had to put on a muffler.... simple $15 CherryBomb "Turbo" II... (I hate the way the word "turbo" is used nowadays)... I've got that perfect pressure once again... but had to sacrifice the beautiful disaster[addsig]

What series flowmasters did you guys put on. I know there are different series of mufflers in their lineup, just wondering which ones you guys had used...

Don't mean to cause trouble... but I'm opposed to the exhausts on fours...I won't even put one on my 4.0. There was a TJ that I was driving next to that had an exhaust. It was obvious that the guy had a 4. It really did sound like a ricer. That's just my opinion. -Mike

Ive got a 304 on straight pipes, and a 258 with a single pipe, no cat and a glasspack. It sounds good. Against the law? Absoloutely. EPA is on the prowel.

No really though, i suggest getting any old cat and completely hollowing it out, then welding it into place, inspection guys will never know the difference.
