I am dropping my amc 360 into my cj5 and I'm having some trouble linine up the teeth right. any advice??

By lining up the teeth do you mean the transmission input shaft teeth? If so find 2 bolts the same as the trans to bellhousing bolts with a smooth shank(about 3 or 4 inch bolts). Saw the heads off the bolts & screw them into the bellhousing. Now you have alignment pins that your transmission will slide onto at the correct angle. Once all is lined up remove the headless bolts & put the originals in. Hope that helps!

Congrats to getting your engine all back together
Did you center the clutch disk on the flywheel? If it's not centered the "teeth" won't line up. You can get a cheap plastic alignment tool for it or make one out of wood. It would require loosening all the pressure plate bolts (quarter turn at a time), centering the disk, retorque the pressure plate bolts (quarter turn each in cross pattern until pressure plate seats on flywheel then torque to spec in stages so you don't bend the pressure plate) . Best of luck - John

yah I got it together and in. I used the two lower bolts to align it. but now I have to put all the wires and stuff back. the 360 manifold is kind of different from the 304. theres no EGR valve spot.....I mean theres one round hole at the back but it doesn't fit to the 360 spicific EGR valve I have.

you know what I should do?

Do without the EGR. I took mine off and plugged it. It runs better IMO.
