chevy 350 doesnt sit straight

I recently bought a '84 cj-7 with a chevy 350 in it. The engine doesn't seem to sit straight under the hood (higher in the front than it is in the back). Does anyone know of how i could fix this. Also, would this have any effect on oil not getting to the cylinder heads. Thanks for any help.

i have heard ideas on this engine tilt. some people like to rise the front of the eng with spacing blocks to reduce the exterem angles on the driveshaft (rear) created by lifting jeeps. does your jeep have a lift and if so how much??

It can also be done in order for the front axle to clear the oil pan, and the front driveshaft to clear the bellhousing.

It shouldn't affect oiling if the angle is not extreme. The only way to lower it is to remove the motor mount perches and weld them lower on the frame. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.[addsig]

my jeep does have a lift. 4in suspension and 2in body lift. there are also shackles that give it some lift but im sure of the actual amount. not more than 2 in. the tilt on the engine also causes the distributor to sit right on the fire wall. the wall had to be punched in a little bit to allow the engine to even fit. the problem with the oil is that if i take the valve covers off it looks as if there is no oil getting to the right bank. oil sprays out on the left side but barely trickles out on the right. could this be clogged ports. i put a new oil pump in but didnt seem to solve the problem so i thought it may be from the tilt in the engine. There is a company called BG that makes products for all aspects of auto fluids. They have a product for changing oil called quick clean that you put in a little while before you change your oil. and another called MOA which you add in when you put oil back in after the change. If you new to this jeep I would get both and do an oil change a month for two or three months. This will help clean everything. My personal preferance is too change my oil every two months and my oil stays pretty clean now which is good. The BG products are great and are used by shops all over the place.
