Cherokee/ Wrangler wheels same

Yeah they are the same backspacing and bolt pattern. Most XJ wheels are 15x7, with one exception of a 16x7 in the last years(on select "limited" models). Wrangler wheels could be 15x6, 15x7, 15x8, or even 16x8 from a Rubicon.

Bottom line is any XJ wheel will bolt onto a Wrangler and vise versa.

I think thats a 5 on 4.5 " which is the same for many Fords and Dodge applications in that year era.

same with late 80s early 90s ford ranger pick'em' up trucks.

Thanks for the info, now that I have the answer to my question here is another: I want to paint these aluminum wheels black. Is there a certain way to prep alum wheels or is it the same as painting steel wheels? Can you powder coat alum wheels?

Yes, I would powder coat them. It will stay better than paint.
If you do go for powder coat, the shop that does it will do all the prep.

A cheap way to go is get the clearcoat off (acentone or wire wheel, etc) then hit them with VHT wheel paint.

Powder coating would be great too, but I prefer that rattle can for the quick spray to repair a scratch or ding from the trail.

you actually take your Jeep on the trail?

how do you think spray-on bed liner would work? would it throw off the balance?

I would think the bedliner would be more durable than paint, I could be wrong. I never used the stuff before.

Bedlined wheels sound great, very resistant to getting "peppered" by stones. Could you share some pictures?
