Budget boost for MJ?

I've been looking for a 2" lift for a Commanche with no luck. 2" for the front isn't a problem any cherokee lift should work but the back leafs seem to be a problem. I've been told to do a spring over to get about 5" of lift. I'd rather not go that extreme. Any ideas?

If you want only a mild lift, and want it cheap... you can either add a leaf, go with a shackle lift, or a combination of both[addsig]

Bounty the blocks won't work for a MJ. The axle is on top of the leafs unlike a cherokee and other trucks. Maybe I'll go with some shackles. How would a 2" lift with the shackles handle? [addsig]

HAHA... i had a friend do a 3 inch lift with shackles... it worked no doubt... but they got hung up on everything and they allowed the springs to lay out quite a bit... I would NEVER go more than 2 inches with a shackle lift... I would add a leaf or 2 to the pack... You can get leaf springs at a junk yard pretty cheap. They are easy to install as well... just might need new Ubolts and center pins[addsig]

Forgot about that, I was thinking they were like XJ. Gonna have to go with full length AAL or lift spring. Rusty's Offroad has the long AAL you need, the full length ones don't stiffen the ride very much, not like the short AAL.



You'd need a 4" longer shackle for 2" of lift

Thanks for the help. Thats what I'm going to do...go with 1" lift with some shackles and aal for the rest. Bounty I was thinking the same thing...XJ budget lift and I'm all set, that was until I crawled under the thing
