I have an 07 wrangler x. Has a DANA 44 rear and a front Dana 30 axle.
if I change out my rear for something else, can I re use my Dana 44 rear on the front of my Jeep?

No. Everything is different.
How would you turn?
Spring perches, brakes, shock mounts ... you would have to retube and add knuckles...
Then the ring and pinion will be worked on the coast side(weaker) of the gears.

In short, while it is "possible", it is in no way feasible.

Not only do your axle tubes need to be cut and shortened and machined to receive the steering inner "C's" and corresponding steering knuckles, spindles etc, but the drive side of the ring gear will be cut the wrong way and you'll essentially be wearing the gear on reverse drive surfaces of the ring and pinion... an angle it is not optimally cut for... either that or you'll have to flip the pumpkin around, but then you'll be contending with the fact that the casting does not properly direct fluid over the ring and pinion bearings during operation. Nothing about this setup is ideal and you will wind up spending drastically more money than just buying a brand-new Dana 44.
