Another tire question!

Laura and ndnatty,

Please consider also possible complications which might arise when you put larger tires and/or wheels on your Jeeps.

Wheel backspacing, rubbing on fender flares or body panels, and springs for those of us with leaf-sprung Jeeps, turning radius problems and the like also need to be factored into the equation.

Bounty_Hunter, Snitty and L33 seem to be our suspension and drive-train gurus. Before you lay out big-time hard cash for new tire-wheel combos, I would suggest consulting with those guys. They are a wealth of knowledge.

There is a lot more to selecting a wheel-tire combo than merely selecting the right size tire for a given wheel size. The wheels and tires have to work together as a coordinated package with the body dimensions, suspension and steering systems.

Just a cautionary flag that is better waved now rather than later -- after you have already purchased new tires and/or wheels.

Regards,

Gadget
