Ok I have found a 1976 wagoneer that seems to be in good shape. Its on craigslist so i havent seen it first hand. He says its been sittin for 10 years but ran when he parked it. I am secure in my mechanical abilities to get it going again but Im not sure if there were significant problems with this year or model that i might want to steer clear of.

Im not sure of the size of motor but it is described as a v8 with automatic. so im thinking 360 or 401. As far as getting it up and running im figuring on total fluid change, carb rebuild, plugs, plug wires possible vacuum lines, and a set of tires to get it moving. Am I correct in my line of thinking? I would also plan on new brakes asap.

Thanks in advance for any feed back... BTW the guy is asking $750 for the wagoneer.

It's more likely going to have the AMC 360 in it. Don't forget to flush the cooling system. Since it's been sitting for 10 yr's , it's probbably going to have a rusty coolant when you get it stirred up on the first start and possibly plug up the t.stat. Replace the T.stat after you flush the cooling system. Replace the cap and rotor as well. It looks good on the pics. Good find for $750.00..
