I have a 2003 tj sport and when i go to start the engine doesnt make any noise. The lights and radio work but the car doesnt make a noise when trying to start. Any ideas?

Not even a little clicking sound? First thing take your starter out and get it tested. Its free. Sometimes it gets gummed up and you may need a new one.

The solenoid is probably bad on the starter or the wires going to the starter are loose. Mine did the same thing

Mine did the same thing one time and it turned out to be a main fuze under the hood try getting those checked out

Fuse. Solenoid and check the fuses and ground cables. The cables and connections are often overlooked.

Could you jump start it??

The car will turn over from time to time and start. But frequently wont start and it is getting worse. Maybe the ignition?

I agree with the others...sounds like your starter mine had similar issues. As to cost autozone's replacement starter was $59.99 after core refund, but like anything else you can spend as much as you want by upgradeing ;). Luck.

It sounds like the starter solenoid! I just replaced the Starter on my JEEP! Always a. GOOD IDEA to pull Battery - - Take to Auto Zone (any parts house) Have a Battery Capacity test done - VERIFY the Battery is OK! Are your Battery Connections - Clean and Tight! You can clean with Battery Cleaning Tool. After those two STEPS-- When The Jeep WON'T start -- Are you getting a 12V signal at your Starter Solenoid? (Check with DVM) If you are getting Voltage to the Solenoid - and the JEEP is NOT starting - YOU need another STARTER! Might be- WORN Brushes! A good REBUILT starter might run $ 75 - 80 bucks! Have to check on that one. GOOD LUCK! JB
