1980 Dana 300 speedo gear

Looking for a speedometer gear for a 1980 only Dana 300.
81-86 will not work. This is the short tail housing dana 300.
I'm running 3:73 gears a 33" tires.

I believe that you have an all steel speedo gear, and they don't make additional sizes with more / less teeth. From what I've read you'll need a ratio adapter. This sits inline with your speedo and changes the ratio - they seem to run $80-$100

Here's what I found out.

I have a Scout TC 146 1980 Scout Dana 300 with 13 teeth.
Part # 890182 The speedo cable is on the pass side.

I took a Gear out of a Jeep Dana 20 15 teeth.

Part #890206 The Speedo cable is on the drivers side.

Both gear look the same. But the Jeep teeth turn one way and the Scout turn the other way.

Can I press off the Dana 20 gear, flip it and put it back on?
