Well, I did it. I bought my dream jeep .... A 1977 CJ7. I have wanted one forever. Got it for a great price knowing it needed a little work which is why I am here.
I
While pumping gas yesterday, fuel started pouring out the bottom drivers side. I looked down to find cut hoses that at one time went to a liquid check valve that is no longer there. My first question is where is the liquid check valve secured to the jeep body? I have seen a few pictures online for other later model CJ's, but no pictures that look like mine. I cannot even determine where it's to be secured. Next, where can I buy one?

Thanks for the help.

As I understand it, the liquid check valve is just a valve that lets vapor pass by it but not liquid for the charcoal canister up under the hood. I have taken most of mine out or took off the hoses and plugged them because I took all of the emission stuff off. you don't have to have it. DMC, (Dalorean Motor Company) has them! they are 9.99, you can google them. other jeepers say they are the same thing down to the mounting holes. any year should work as they function the same. I believe they mount in back up under the tail light area. hope this helps
