08 Wrangler transmission service question

I have a 08 wrangler Sahara. Trying to service the transmission. I dropped the skid plate but can' get access to the front row of bolts. The exhaust crosses over and covers that row. Surely I don't have to drop the exhaust right?
I searched the forum and found a how to but it did not mention the exhaust as an issue.

I did a bit of research, and it appears that if you have a flexible socket extension you should be able to reach the bolts.

Use a 1/4 inch socket and ratchet with a 2 Inch extension and a wobbler. After the pan drops, it will get hung up between the exaust cross over and the valve body. Slowly and carefully manuever it off the trans.
