Sure it would be reckless to just throw a strap over a ball. As soon as the ball became the lower of the two it would come loose. A little common sense goes a long way.
sure does.... good job contradicting your self!

Uh, did I not first post:

You simply choke the strap around the whole works. It's the same as what you are describing with a shackle except the ball mount is wider than a stock YJ shackle side plate and a heck of a lot less likely to cut a strap.
?????????????????
No contridiction at all. My point was that you need to choke the strap, not simply throw it over a ball.

But obviously that's too much work for some of you all. I guess to you, it's easier and safer to lay down in some mud, get under an off camber Jeep, and wrap a chain around an axle.

To each his own :?

hey lets agree to disagree, but should you accually showup on the trail and I am there, and try to pull someone out by the ball hitch, your on your own. sorry.

So now you go from argueing a point to taking shots at me. Nice. Are we in elementary school here?
No shots, merely stating that if that is your method of recovery, and we are on the trail together at some point, your all by yourself. I would not be part of something like that. Sorry if you take offense to that.

RE: air compressors

Any more XJ's or ZJ's here that someone wants to show off??

Less talk, more pictures!!!

I thought these were pretty nice:

thanks. Need to get it dirty more often but it's a PITA to find legal wheeling spots and even hidden discreet spots.
