Wrangler Brake problems - worn steering knuckle

For the last year or so I've had a slight slapping sound when I come to a stop. It only happens once, just before the Jeep stops. Last night I took apart my passenger brakes and found that the pads were chewed on each end, and there were grooves worn where they sit.

What's the best way to fix this? Should I replace this with stock parts from the local parts store, or is it better to go with some sort of upgraded aftermarket knuckle?

IMO , repairing the issue would be replacing the knuckle assy. . I'm not sure if there is a anti-rattle kit available out there that would slide onto the brake pad guides to keep it a little snug but it's worth looking into for cost reasons. after market brake pads would be close to the oem specs. therefore will still make the popping noise when the caliper shifts.

Most auto stores should have the shim kit for your jeep but as Mikey has said there just going to ride in the worn part on the pad slides. this will reduce the noise but sooner or later your going to have to replace the outer knuckle.
