Wrangler Bling?

Now, no offense to anyone who has done this to their wrangler, (I am focusing on the wrangler, not grand cherokee or anything similar) let me say right off the bat. I was coming home from an errand today and a silver wrangler (02 or something ish) was pulling onto the street I was driving on. As I passed it I couldnt help but notice the at least 20" chrome rims, low profile performance tires and a ton of black swirly stickers and chrome things all over the body. It was a hard top so the glass windows were tinted "no see um" black. Again everyone has their own taste, I respect that, but what do you (friendly neighborhood jeepers) think about a tough go anywhere wrangler done up like this? In my opinion I didnt care for it.

If i saw it, i would get out ***** slap the driver, take the jeep, and give him a Toyota Land Crusier, or a Land Rover. Because why in the hell would you buy a 15k OFF ROAD vehicle and make it not off roadable. Thats one of my biggest pevs

I hate it when people do that. There's a red wrangler around here with tinted windows, red 22" wire wheels, low profile tires, lowered, and lots of chrome. I see it almost every day and want to slap him every time I do. haha!

You should have stopped him and at least scratched off the word JEEP on the side.I like the look of a low rider and big rims, but not on a Wrangler.I have seen some on Cherokee but even that I dont like that much.

Some things look good to me like that . . . .Chevies, Old Oldsmobiles maybe, perhaps an old Chrysler car but some things should NOT get the bling and lowered suspension . . . Pick up TRUCKS, 4X4 bazers, etc., but of ALL things , out of ANY of them:evil: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER a CJ or Wrangler . . . EVER!!!:twisted::twisted: .. . .

I bet I could find vehicles with 20" chrome rims that are far more superior than yours off road.

I say who cares, to each there own

I have seen a few Jeeps with 20" rims and 44" tires. They look and work great off road.I just dont like the 24" rim with the slim line tire and lowered jeep.I look at it if it is 4wd raise it up in the air,if it is 2wd crush it,I mean lower it..

What tires though? You can use 49's and 20's...and ya if the rig is built right then ya it'll do better off road.

That's not what the OP was talking about though;)

I was thinking the same thing 88!

I still say who cares. Kinda the same as the guys who have resto mods and those who are purists, either way..

My school of thought it, better to spend money on 20" rims and low profile tires than herroine and a crack ***** :D

LOL....I thought Wrangler Bling was things like adding gps, lights, winches, etc. I will say that I added a few things that y'all would laugh at but it makes my life sweeter. I added an inverter so I could plug in my coffee pot and to power my laptop which is loaded with great mapping software.
I have two other gps units. The cool one is the Pioneer AVIC N-1. It has a 7 inch monitor that pops out of the unit, so it's recessed normally. It has the capabilities of playing any cd plus television. A separate video circuit that I installed, leads to a infra-red camcorder by Sony. When in this mode, I flip on my Light Force infra-red beams and run the jeep with all lights off while watching the monitor. Another piece of bling that I have is a 1941 Bantam trailer with 2 Engels 65 quart fridge/ freezers for when I go on long trips into the middle of nowhere. BTW, my type of jeeping is strictly adventure. I've done all the normal jeeping yrs. ago. Some more bling would be a 4 battery system with a souped up alternator that I built.
I have A.C. electricity coming out of the alternator as I bypassed the rectifier by building another circuit. I added aux. fuse boxes under the hood and at the trunk area. Made a ground circuit running thro the jeep that is grounded to the frame. The other 2 batteries are in the trailer and they are all yellow tops. The 2 batteries in the jeep have Warn connectors attached, let's me connect with ease, things like Warn jumper cables, my air compressor and a drop cord I built with Warn connectors to feed the trailer. Saving up for an onboard welder also.
Wrangler bling? I have a summer outfit and a winter out fit for my tj with sliders for the half doors. The c.b. and ham radios installed could also be considered bling. Almost forgot to tell you, I got internet too. Installed 4 small fans that mist the jeep with bug repellant so when you stop to admire the view, the skeeters stay away. I can hear you laughing now! LOL
Another piece of bling I installed, Staun inner bead locks. Heck, I hate changing blowouts in the woods. Now, I don't have to. I just wait till I get to a road before I do that. I have a green tj, so I installed rock crawling lights. Because I use alot of electricty, I'm running green led's and can put them in strobe mode for when we have our mountain parties which is weekly.
I added an I-pod that connects to my system. Now I have a zip file on there that has all of Napster's music which is about 45,000 songs. Love that I-pod!
I'm gonna stop but there's more! But what else would you expect from a New York City native that has gone country? In May '04, I traded in my Eldorado etc for a Rubicon. I was hooked so I pimped out my tj....
Some people laugh .......but I'm enjoying my second childhood!
