wireing problems

ok guys i have a 81 cj with the fiberglass tub im haveing pronlems keeping a good ground for dash and other things in the jeep every thing flickers and never seems to want to work rt voltage is all over the place ideas i have ran a ground from battery to frame and fram to motor then from frame to my ebrake mount inside then my grounds from the dash all run to the ebrake mount inside and every thing from the out side goes to the frame or batery!!!!! am i missing something or did i do it the correct way seeing i have the fiber glass body

are your grounds on clean bare metal try a piece sand paper then bolt them back up if its not clean it will short

Make sure your ground to the e barake Lever is good at the frame. Wouldnt hurt to run one right to battery if in doubt.

A bad Voltage regulator will cause the voltage to vary like you mention. Get a multi meter and verify the voltage is varying. If it is take the alternator out and have it tested. It's may be the voltage regulator.

As far as the ground issue be sure they are all clean and no signs of corrosion.

best way to ground is to get a ground (copper bar with holes for mounting cables), and put it under the dash.. hook the main cable to the negative teminal of the battery.. you always have a great ground bar with this... no worry about paint, corrosion, fiberglass, just use a little NO-OX grease on each connection..
