brake bleeding problem

i have a 87 yj with a 4.2, lately ive been looking into buying a winch, i just want some opinions on what would be best way to go, most of my off-roading is done in the mud so i would need something strong enough to pull my jeep out without haveing to worry about killing it.

For your reading pleasure. Needless to say, this topic has been discussed much here......the links listed are the result of a "search" for "winch".....and I quit on page 4!!! Basically, you gotta consider what you want to spend, how much winching your actually going to do, and what other vehicles you may be pulling (weight!!!).

A 6000 would probably work, but I would go to at least an 8000lb. I am running a 9000lb because that's what I took off of my full sized truck when I sold it. Something serial wound is easier on the batteries, but a little slower. Low profile doesn't block your air flow for cooling as much. Dual batteries would be nice too. Mine's a Warn and works fine. I have nothing against any of the others though. Price would mean a lot if I was looking again.

There's a lot of bargain 8k winches out there for $300 to $400, almost all are made in China. They work for many, are slow, and the reliability is iffy. Good for infrequent use. For regular use stick with a Warn or Ramsey, or maybe even a Tmax. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. I run a Warn 8274, made in '76 and still pulling strong.
