will grill fit?

My Jeep is a 75 CJ5. The grill is missing the tab at the bottom that supports, and lines up, the front body mount. I have a grill from a 79. Will it fit? Or should I just use this as a prototype so the welder can fab one onto existing grill?

If i'm not mistaken, the fitment on the CJ grill is from 72-86..With this being said, it should fit.

Yes 72-86 is all the same. the 55-71 CJ5 was differnt. 65-71 CJ5 you could get a 225 odd Fire Buick V6 and it had the short fenders and hood.

I know alot of things changed in 76, wasnt sure about the grill.

Maybe you should get a little 120 mig welder and some scrap metal, it would probably pay for itself in no time with little weld jobs like this. I got a little Lincoln wire feeder for a couple hundred that you just squeeze the trigger and go. NUTTIN TO IT!! :shock:
