Anyone remember Moon pies and RC Colas?

i actually had an rc cola last week, one of my buddys has some way he has been buying them for the last month, i had no clue they even made them anymore

And gum was 3 cents a piece at 7-11? I would pick up all the pennies I could find and go buy gum.

Also, we had a redline burger in austin and burgers were a quarter

yup, so you were buying gum in 2000 when gum was a quarter a piece.

but, you missed minimum wage being 4 something an hour or less also.

i remember i used to have a 65 mustang in high school. i had to stop for gas halfway from corpus to houston, its a 4 hour drive. never even worried about if i had enough money to fill it up, it was 90 something cents a gallon. now, i wonder how much i am going to be out if i have to drive the wrangler to san antonio, a 2.5 hour drive. i would never consider driving my wrangler across country, like i did my mustang and f150 back in the 90s. now, it costs the same to drive from texas to north carolina, and back, as it does to fly.

now i am depressed, stupid cost of stuff

I remember when I was in the corps inthe mid 90s I drove from camp lejeune nc to Los Angeles in an 87 integra for about $90. Gas was about a buck a gallon.
If You ever see the movie die hard, you can see the gas price when the cop is at the arco, I think it was 89 cents. Now, those where the good ole days.
I wsh gas prices were lower!

I come creeping around a few times a day. It usually makes me smile. Personally, I've been distracted keeping my company from going bankrupt. Not winning. This economy is screwing everyone. I almost sold the Jeep to keep it floating for another minute, but... Depreciation.

On a fun note, for those with the iPhone 4S... Have you asked Siri a knock-knock joke? Change your personal information so she calls you something other than your name. If I ask her who I am today, she'll say, "You're a stone cold b**ch, aren't you? At least that's what you told me." Haha- she's fun.

siri knows her place lol

we drive to camp lejeune every other year or so to see family.

when i went on terminal leave from the army on 15 december 1997, i drove from fort benning ga to corpus christi texas on about 35 bucks in gas. my little karman ghia got 32 miles to the gallon and cost about 8 or 10 bucks to fill up. even when i drove my 89 civic to camp lejeune the following year, it only cost about 50 or 60 and that civic got 39 or 40 mpg.

The quip about the average stay is 2 months wasn't a real number. Since accounts don't really die when you stop posting, there isn't any real way to get a number for how long a member continues posting at Jeepz.com. People come and go which is normal, but I think we've got a great core group of guys that keep things moving along nicely (and I emphasize the "nice" part).

As to traffic, we're actually doing right in line with what we should be.

Keep in mine that the last dot only shows the first 3 weeks in January.

As to the recent slowness, I'd just chalk it up to winter doldrums. Maybe we need to get some new interesting threads going to spark things up :shades:

And gas was 19.9 cents a gallon and minimum wage was $1.25 an hour. One week i worked 100 hours and took home $97. i thought i would be able to retire in a few years at that rate.
