What is the difference in gauges?

I'm looking at fuel pressure gauges and I have seen ones with water in them and ones that are dry. What exactly is the difference?

Liquid filled guages, generally oil, will be higher quality, the oil stabilizes the the needle and protects the guage from vibration and allows for longer accurate service.

Unless you are looking to monitor a motor with an adjustable pressure regulator, you really don't need a FPG. and if you do, a regular guage will work just fine.

Ok that all sounds good about the liquid filled gauges but won't it be affected more by the heat. The gauge will be in the engine bay.

That's not why I need it. I want to calibrate the pressure, specifically to decrease the pressure, to the carb.

no, it will be fine. i had my gauge in the engine bay for pressure regulation on my bmw. never had a problem
