I am looking to upgrade my alternator in my 95 YJ. In looking for one I see alot of different chooses on Powermaster. Like 100/70 Amp to 140/80.
What would i need. I have 4-6x9 lights, a hefty sound system, will be getting a winch very soon and on bourd air next year.

With this in mind what amp should I be looking for.

The biggest you can afford. The bigger the better.! be sure to upgrade your stock wiring also.

There is an OEM 136A NipponDenso that is nearly a direct bolt-in. It came in late '90s fullsize Dodge trucks and vans. You simply swap out the plastic boot on the back, and the pulley, with your current alternator and it bolts right in.

If I recall you need part #56027913, tons of them at www.car-part.com .

Do exactly what Bounty said. Excellent upgrade and easy to do, and should be cheaper than going with a PowerMaster.

To be honest, I'm cheap, but.....I just can't justify the prices that some of the companies charge for those high power units. Not when they are relatively easy to swap around or have modified at the rebuild shop. Looks like Bounty has THE answer here.
