UPGRADING! with ales and gears

What kind of Ale are you upgrading to? I know we all appreciate a cold one while working on our Jeeps! :D
its a d44a or is this supposed to be regarding my spelling error? then in that case dos equis XX

and in response to everyone else i wanted to re-gear once i discovered its one of the best upgrades to do to help the poor 4 banger. found a deal about a D44 rear with locker and 4.56 gears and disc brakes and front gears(4.56) w/ air locker, could get all that and cost me the same as just putting in the gears. i was advised that 4.88 was too aggressive and 4.56 would return me to stock and why not get the locker and better axle.

and the fan is gonna happen

If your 2.5L has the 5spd your stock axle gears are 4.10, and 4.10 to 4.56 isn't enough of a change to justify the cost and time of installing gears. Basically throwing money away. Go with 4.88 for a 2.5L 5spd and oversized tires.

What are the front gears out of, if it's the Grand the rear came from they won't work in your front D30. YJs are high pinion and ZJs are low pinion.

I was going to comment on the ale also but someone beat me to it. Ales and gears sounds like the thread to be in but I have a question.

For a normal play daily keep with little to no off roaring time, or just running on caliche/ dirt trails, would that d44a be a good swap since it already had the disc brakes and probably an easily matched gear ratio?
