U-Bolt Flip Pro's and Con's

The last time I went out I ended up breaking 3 of the u-bolt ends off and bending most of the rest of them. On top of getting stuck on the bolts a good 4 or 5 times. My expensive RE lift is only like 2 years old so I'm not going to replace it with a sprung over at this time and was looking into options to protect my ubolts. One company sells a skid that goes on the bottom of the bolts but I imagine that would put those points even lower on the one part of the jeep I keep hanging up on. Has anybody installed a flip kit and what are your opinions about them?

P.S.- Something like this, although I don't like this design. Seems like it doesn't hold the axle tight enough for me to be comfortable daily driving my jeep and the front won't fit with the vacuum disconnect. On top of being $153 for 4 bolts and 4 plates per axle.

Pro's better ground clearence

Cons; expensive, square ubolts have a tendency to crack on the bend from hitting and dragging.

I ended up making my own to solve all the cons. I can search for some pics, but basically I too apiece or 2.5" 3/16 square, cut it in half the long way and then end milled it to be the height of the u-bolt plus 3/16" then I cut the ends at 60* and then using 1x1 solid slugs as braces, I plated them.

I will look for a photo.

Sorry I would not find any pics. when I get home, I can snap some pics if you want. I am on travel right now.
