Trailer towing package 4.0L XJ 1998

Steering play on 4.0L XJ 1998

Hi

Would anyone one anyone know what the trailer towing package consists of on this vehicle. Where would they locate the additional gearbox cooler and how much would it adjust the oil temp. in the gearbox by?

If it is an automatic like mine it will have 2 lines running from the transmission to the radiator.

The tow package consists of the transmission cooler and a hitch.

Depending on the XJ, there is often an extra wiring harness (and some relays) for the trailer towing package. Last time I checked the harness wasn´t real expensive at the dealer.
Transmission oil cooler is a must, believe many of the later models had the cooler even without the trailer package. Depending on which duty package was ordered.
Steering box cooler, is a nice but not necessary item.
If you have A/C most times you have the HD cooling package.

The '98 towing package came with the external transmission cooler, 8.25" rear axle, and receiver with wiring harness.
